Adelphi Selection Glen Garioch 21 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky
About Adelphi Selection Glen Garioch 21 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Situated in the village of Old Meldrum in the Scottish Highlands, the Glen Garioch (pronounced Glen Geery) Distillery was founded in 1797 by John and Alexander Manson. The distillery is one of the oldest in Scotland, and takes its name from the Valley of the Garioch, which is situated adjacent to the distillery and is known for producing the finest barley in all of Scotland. The distillery — the most easterly in Scotland — enjoys the temperate climate and cool breeze that are ideal for the production and maturation of whisky.Glen Garioch Single Malt Scotch Whisky is made from barley harvested from the Valley of the Garioch. After the barley has been harvested, it is mashed and fermented with water drawn from the Silent Spring. In 1968, production of whisky at Glen Garioch Distillery was suspended as the area surrounding the distillery experienced a severe drought. Four years later, an incredibly pure spring was discovered upon a neighboring farm. The Silent Spring, as it came to be known, could neither be seen nor heard without modern instruments, and has been Glen Garioch's water source for over four decades. Once the barley has been fermented, it is distilled twice — first through Glen Garioch copper-pot wash still and then again through its spirit still.
This Adelphi Selection is non chill filtered, and bottled without any additives. Each bottling is very limited, each cask yielding anywhere between 100 and 700 bottles. “Identifying only the very best casks allows us to offer a range of styles and regions with our panel of professional ‘noses’ chaired by world authority on Scotch whisky and Master of the Quaich, Charles MacLean” (producer). This beautiful single malt has rich notes of chocolate and butter y caramel.

About Scotch
Scotch is the most popular whisky in the world and is considered the king of them all! There are five whisky regions in Scotland (six if you count the not officially recognized Islands), and each of them produces spirits with unique properties and distinct tasting notes. (The type of grain used determents the type of the scotch.)
Malt whisky is made of malted barley, and grain whisky uses other grains like corn or wheat. Most of the time, a whisky is blended from different distilleries hence the name blended scotch, but if a malt whisky is produced in a single distillery, we get something extraordinary called a single malt.

About Angel's Envy
After graduating college, Lincoln Henderson joined Brown-Forman as a grain chemist and was eventually promoted to Master Distiller. During his 40-year tenure at Brown-Forman, he honed his skills while developing new brands such as Woodford Reserve Bourbon, Jack Daniel Distillery "Gentleman Jack" and Jack Daniel Distillery Single Barrel Whiskey. In addition to being responsible for the development of new products, Henderson oversaw quality control, technical distillery supervision, and sensory evaluation. "I never regretted a day when I had to go to work," says Henderson, who was awarded Malt Advocate's Lifetime Achievement Award and was an inaugural member of the Kentucky Bourbon Hall of Fame. After retiring from Brown-Forman, Henderson decided to go rogue and launched Angel's Envy Bourbon. "Angel's Envy is a lot of things," said Henderson. "It's my life's work. It's a whiskey of incomparable smoothness. It takes into account over 200 years of bourbon heritage an d mingles it with over 400 years of port wine heritage." The name is derived from the term "angel's share" ― the portion of whiskey that evaporates as it ages in wooden barrels. After tasting the bourbon, Henderson realized that the angels might want a larger cut. The family operation is now run by his son Wes Henderson.

About Appleton Estate
In 1655, a British expedition led by Sir William Penn and General Robert Venables captured the island of Jamaica from the Spanish. Following the conquest, Frances Dickinson — a soldier in Venables' army — was granted land in exchange for his honorable services. This land would eventually become the foundation of the Appleton Estate.Since 1749, the Appleton Estate has been crafting some of the world's finest rum from sugarcane grown on it's 11,000 acre estate. Once the sugarcane is harvested, it is fermented with exceptionally soft water that originates on the Estate and is naturally filtered through limestone hills. In addition, the fermentation proce ss uses a proprietary strain of yeast that contributes a unique aroma and flavor profile to the rum. Following fermentation, the rum is distilled through copper pot and column stills.

Bushmills 28 Year Old Single Malt Cognac Cask Whiskey
About Bushmills 28 Year Old Single Malt Cognac Cask Whiskey
The oldest historical records tell us that whiskey originated along the north coast of Ireland. Whiskey has been made there for over 1,000 years, a craft passed down by generations of Irish inhabitants. Sir Thomas Phillips got his license to distill on those lands in 1608, making it the oldest licensed distillery in the world. A lot of whiskey was produced there — even before the governor of Bushmills, Sir Thomas Phillips, was granted the license to distill there in 1608. After all, Hugh Anderson was doing it in 1784, registering the very first trademark on a pot still."Single malt" means that a whiskey has been made at a "single" distillery and uses only "malted" barley in its recipe. Single malt whiskeys are considered the best because of the malted barley. Even centuries ago, malted barley was believed to be the finest grain for making whiskey. Whiskey was only made with barley until the 1800s, when the King of England imposed a tax on it. At that moment, most distilleries switched to corn, a cheaper ingredient, to make their whiskey. Most Irish whiskeys rely only on low-cost corn to make their whiskey to this day. But not Bushmills. Only Bushmills maintained this connection to whiskey’s origin.
A storied distillery steeped in history, Bushmills didn't make it this far by staying the same. Weathering conflict, fire, and famine, Bushmills has emerged from each trial with a newfound strength and commitment to their cause.
Bushmills has always stood its ground in the face of adversary, natural, and economic distaster, rising from the ashes ever stronger.
Today, Bushmills remains an icon of Irish Whiskey. Spearheading Bushmills' new "The Rare Casks" series is the Bushmills 28 Year Old Single Malt Cognac Whiskey, one that takes us on a journey through the illustrious career of Master Blender Helen Mulholland. One of the very first batches she worked on, she has kept a watchful eye over it ever since the spirit was distilled in 1992. Built on their unpeated single malt, this expression was first aged for 11 years in Oloroso sherry casks before being transferred to meticulously-sourced ultra-rare Cognac casks for another 17 years. Complex, rich, deep, and nuanced, this rare Irish whiskey was bottled on July 7th, 2020 at 93.4 proof.

About Bushmills
In the words of Master Distiller Colum Egan, the world’s oldest licensed whiskey is not good because it’s old, but rather it’s the other way around. Granted the royal license to distill in 1608, Bushmills is located in the village of Bushmills on the north coast of Ireland. Embedded in the lives of the locals who work side by side in this legendary distillery, the water is sourced from the River Bush that flows through the village.More than 400 years later, Bushmills is still delighting its loyal fans with new offerings. The distillery weathered everything from a disastrous fire, the Prohibition and devastating grain taxes because of its uncompromising commitment to quality – even when other Irish whiskeys were forever changed due to a tax on barley, this legendary distillery continued distilling single malt whiskey in the traditional way, never substituting barley for corn or other inferior grains. Among its endless accolades, the distillery boasts the only Gold Medal for whiskey ever to be awarded at the Paris 1889 Expo.
About Irish Whiskey
Contrary to popular belief that Scots invented whisk(e)y, Irish whiskey was mentioned almost a century before its Scottish brother.
Its origin comes from the perfume distilling monks who decided to tweak the recipe a bit, creating Irish whiskey.
Irish whiskey doesn’t have a lot of rules and regulations to be considered “pure” and can be made with various grains and processes, as long as it is aged for at least three years in wooden casks and has a max ABV of 94.8%.
