About English Harbour
Antigua Distillery Limited was formed in 1932 by a group of eight local entrepreneurs, who a few years earlier came together to buy molasses in bulk and control the distillation process for their rums. In 1933, the company opened a rum distillery on Rat Island in St. John's harbor and the first rum it produced was sold unaged in casks to local rum merchants and aged or matured as Caballero Rum. In 1947 ADL introduced its own label, Cavalier Muscovado Rum, and a lighter version of this rum is still marketed today as Cavalier Antigua Rum. In 1991, the distillery installed a 3-column pure copper still from John Dore & Co., modified on site to simulate 5 columns, which is the only column still in the Caribbean to which other metals have not been added.About Rum
Rum history allegedly started in the Carribiens in the 17th century when they started to ferment and distill molasses, a byproduct of sugar production. Most of the Rum is aged in oak or ex-wine casks, giving its color and flavor.
We distinguish between 4 different Rum categories, where white or unaged rum is mainly used in cocktails, while dark, spiced, and añejo (aged) rum are mostly enjoyed neat.

Espolon Extra Anejo Tequila
About Espolòn Extra Añejo Tequila
The process begins when expert jimadors harvest the agave after they have been matured for nearly a decade. Then, the heart of the agave — the piña — is removed and cooked for approximately 22 hours (versus the industry average of 12 hours). Once the piña has been cooked, it is shredded and the remaining agave pulp is fermented using a proprietary strain of yeast. During fermentation, Oropeza plays rock music within the distillery to inspire the agave. Then, he twice distills the wash through copper pot stills for approximately 5.5 hours (versus the industry standard of 3.5 hours). After distillation, Espolòn Tequila Extra Añejo was laid to rest in new, American white oak barrels, where Master Distiller Cirilo Oropeza kept a watchful eye on his tequila (and waited patiently). After six long years — twice as long as the legal minimum for “extra añejo” — Oropeza bottled the tequila at 82 proof, giving it an exceptionally rich, smooth flavor.
Espolòn Tequila Extra Añejo has a nose that is both floral and smoky, with roasted agave notes mingling with baking spices, toasted almond, vanilla, ripened pineapple, maple and oak. The palate is buttery and viscous, and leads to a finish accented with cocoa nibs, rich fruits, cherry, tobacco and honey.
There’s only one batch of Espolòn Tequila Extra Añejo, and once it’s gone, it’s gone forever.

This traditional Mexican drink origins in the state of Jalisco when according to a local legend, lightning struck an agave cactus before the Nahua tribe drank its warm nectar. Behold, tequila.
Legally, tequila has to be made of 51% of Blue agave around the Jalisco region in Mexico. There are different types of tequila according to age - from the youngest representatives, blanco, reposado, and añejo, to the oldest extra añejo.

There are two main representatives of the American whiskey family, bourbon, and rye, but some other spirits don't fall into those two strictly regulated categories.
There's equally strictly regulated American single malt, made from 100% malted barley, Tennessee whiskey, essentially bourbon filtered through maple charcoal and aged in new charred oak barrels.
And then there's moonshine, a high proof (150- 170 proof) distilled spirit mainly made out of corn which gained popularity during the prohibition.

After looking at and smelling casks together with William Hornaday at Kelvin Cooperage, Straub and D'Antoni picked what were originally orange curaçao barrels that a local distiller used to finish a batch of botanical gin. The curaçao's sticky sweetness and gin's sharpness immediately reminded them of the famous tangy drink the astronaut John Glenn drank in the 80s and they thought it would be beautifully complemented with a bourbon. A blend of 5.5YO Kentucky Straight Bourbon and a 12YO High-Rye Kentucky Straight Bourbon was put to rest for a month and the result was mind-blowing. Bottled at 120.3 proof, non-chill filtered and with only 2,402 bottles released, this bourbon has been described as out of this world. It owes its name to the Outer Loop street in Louisville where Kelvin Cooperage is located and to John Glenn who was the first American to orbit the Earth.

Four Roses Cask Strength Small Batch 2017 Bourbon Whiskey
About Four Roses Cask Strength Small Batch 2017 Bourbon Whiskey
Following Prohibition, Four Roses Kentucky Straight Bourbon became the top-selling bourbon in the United States. In 1943, Seagram's bought the distillery and a decade later, discontinued the sale of Four Roses Kentucky Straight Bourbon. In 2002, the distillery changed hands again, and the new owner brought a renewed sense of purpose and vigor to Four Roses.Approximately 13,800 hand-numbered bottles of Four Roses Small Batch 2017 Bourbon Whiskey were released in 2017. Upon the release, Master Distiller Brent Elliot explained "the magic happened early on with this Small Batch Bourbon — after only my third test blend, I knew we had hit the target and then some. Once we combined them, it resulted in more depth, richness and warmth than any one of the individual recipes." A small batch Kentucky bourbon, this dram brings together only the best of barrels. Bottled at cask strength of 108 proof and barrel aged between 12-15 years, expect intensely fruity flavors and sweet vanilla flavors, but they never become too much. If opened up with a few drops of water, the palate develops further and delivers notes of butterscotch, oak and banana.

Laphroaig 16 Year Old 2021 Edition Single Malt Scotch Whisky
About Laphroaig 16 Year Old 2021 Edition Single Malt Scotch Whisky
In 1815, Donald and Alexander Johnston began leasing nearly 1,000 acres of land on the island of Islay. Their intent was to raise and sell cattle on the land and as a result, they began growing barley to be used as feed for their livestock. Following a particularly bountiful harvest, the brothers distilled the excess grains they had grown into whisky, and sold it to the inhabitants of the island. Soon thereafter, the brothers found it more profitable to distill whisky than to raise cattle, and Laphroaig (pronounced La-froyg) Distillery was born. For over a century, the distillery would remain in the hands of one of Johnston's descendants. In 1954, however, Ian Hunter passed away childless and bequeathed the distillery to Bessie Williamson, a secretary that had been working at the distillery for two decades. Hunter was incredibly protective of the distillery — while he slowly revealed its secrets to Williamson after she had earned his trust, Hunter prevented a cooper who was employed at the distillery from publishing his memoirs because they described the workings of the distillery in too great a detail.
Laphroaig Single Malt Whisky is one of the most flavorful and intense whiskies made anywhere in the world. During Prohibition, it was one of the few whiskies still legally imported into the United States, as it was considered a medicinal spirit. Laphroaig Single Malt is made from the finest Scottish barley, which is malted at the distillery and smoked over a peat flame. Unlike other distilleries which source peat from the Scottish mainland, the peat used to smoke Laphroaig barley is made from the heather, mosses, and lichens of Islay and adds a distinct iodine-like flavor to the whisky.
After the barley has been malted and peated, it is fermented before being twice-distilled through Laphroaig's copper-pot stills. The unique stills have an unusually flat base and flat surfaces, which lends to the overall intensity of the whisky. After the whisky has been distilled, it is aged in seasoned oak barrels, which are re-charred prior to being filled. The re-charring process caramelizes the remaining sugars in the barrel, and adds slightly sweet notes of vanilla and nutty dough t o the whisky.
Laphroaig 16 gets released on special occasions, starting with their 200th anniversary in 2015. The 2021 edition spent its 16 years in 1st-fill ex-bourbon casks before being bottled at 96 proof. The barrels impart the spirit with a striking bright-gold hue as well as vanilla and spice notes that blend perfectly with Laphroaig's signature peaty, maritime taste profile.

About Scotch
Scotch is the most popular whisky in the world and is considered the king of them all! There are five whisky regions in Scotland (six if you count the not officially recognized Islands), and each of them produces spirits with unique properties and distinct tasting notes. (The type of grain used determents the type of the scotch.)
Malt whisky is made of malted barley, and grain whisky uses other grains like corn or wheat. Most of the time, a whisky is blended from different distilleries hence the name blended scotch, but if a malt whisky is produced in a single distillery, we get something extraordinary called a single malt.

About Kentucky Owl
Kentucky Owl was founded by Charles Mortimer Dedman, a local pharmacist, in 1879. After marrying his wife, Dedman was given a large parcel of land on the banks of the Kentucky River, as a wedding gift from his adopted father who was a local town judge. C.M. Dedman Distillery was established here on the banks of the Kentucky River, producing "The Wise Man's Bourbon" under Distilled Spirits Plant Designation "No. 16", one of Kentucky’s original distilleries and part of a booming industry.Kentucky Owl achieved much success and production continued until Prohibition halted distillation. The family-run facility was no match for the "forces of teetotalism, temperance and eventually, the Feds". In 1916, Prohibition left several local distilleries with ample reserves of bourbon. As for Kentucky Owl, approximately 250,000 gallons of bourbon were left over in various stages of aging. Today these reserves would be worth about $40 million in inventory. After Federal agents descended on the Dedman’s distillery, the bourbon was seized and shipped up the river by barge to the state capital in Frankfort for "safekeeping" in a warehouse.
Currently, Kentucky Owl is in the midst of designing a stunning state-of-the-art distillery park with rickhouses for aging, a bottling center, as well as a vintage dinner train to stop on th e property. It will be built at Cedar Creek Quarry in Bardstown. The 420-acre site will boast beautiful lakes with crystal clear, limestone-filtered water that will be used in their whiskey production.

About Willett
For the Willett family, distilling craft whiskey is a family tradition. John David Willlett began distilling at the Moore, Willett & Frenke Distillery just outside of Louisville, Kentucky, during Reconstruction. In 1898, his son, A. Lambert Willett — who was just 15 years old at the time — began apprenticing with his father. Eventually, Lambert purchased a farm on the outskirts of Bardstown, Kentucky, and began construction of the Willett Distilling Company in the spring of 1935. While Willett Distilling Company eventually changed its name to Kentucky Bourbon Distillers, the family tradition lives on. Even Kulsveen, the owner of KBD, is Willett's son-in-law.About Bourbon
