About Bruichladdich Octomore Ten Years Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Inspired by an entrepreneurial flair and a youthful enthusiasm, the Harvey brothers began construction of the Bruichladdich (pronounced brook-laddie or broo-lah-dee) Distillery in 1881. The brothers were descendants of a dynastic whisky family — their ancestors had already owned distilleries in Scotland for over a century. Today, Bruichladdich Distillery (Bruichladdich means "rocky shore" in ancient Gaelic) remains situated on the shores of Loch Indaal on the island of Islay, and continues to use much of the original equipment installed by the Harvey brothers.The modern Bruichladdich Distillery is known as the most experimental and adventurous of the Scottish distilleries, and the Bruichladdich Octomore Series represents a singularly unique expression in the world of Scotch whisky. This Octomore Ten Years' age results in a calmer and deeper spirit than the younger counterparts. The 11.1, and 11.3 spirits are more youthful and they focus on the barley influence, while the Ten Years showcases cask influence.
This expression was distilled in 2009 using 100% Scottish optic barley. It was bottled without chill filtration and added coloring in 2019 at 108.6 proof. It has spent its decade in predominantly ex-bourbon casks with plenty of barrel-hopping wizardry taking place to craft the complex blend: virgin oak, first, and second fill casks from Jim Beam, Heaven Hill, Buffalo Trace, and Jack Daniels were used. Limited to 12,000 bottles worldwide, it's a wonderfully mature peaty Octomore that is refined and complex.

The nose opens with plenty of peat and fruity notes such as citrus, nectarine, and tropical fruit. It's a rich and complex nose with vanilla, oak, and nuttiness as well. There's brine on the palate along with fruit, oak, and smoke. Finishes with the oak stealing the show from the smoke, as well as some coconut, tobacco, and vanilla.

The Bruichladdich Black Art 8.1 continues the series' tradition of shrouding its expressions in a veil of mystery where the exact casks used to age the spirit are only known to the head distiller. This is Hannett's 4th release and 8th overall. It was distilled in 1994 and bottled in 2020, making it a 26-year-old single malt that was matured entirely on Islay. It is, of course, non-chill filtered and has no added coloring. This non-peated expression has the oak highlighting the delicate citrusy and fruity notes and is limited to 12,000 individually-numbered bottles.

The nose opens with citrusy and zesty notes of lime and orange, followed by caramel, honey, oak, dried fruit, tobacco, maple syrup, and nutty overtones. Pleasant oaky sweetness is balanced by citrusy notes on the soft and light palate, along with maple syrup, walnut, toasted oak, and spice, along with some vanilla and caramel. Finishes with gentle caramel, dried fruit, lemon cake, milk chocolate, and hazelnuts.

About Glendalough
Glendalough is an idyllic little town in eastern Ireland. Gaelic for "valley of two lakes," it was said to have been founded by a man named Saint Cóemgen—also known as Saint Kevin. The Glendalough Distillery, Ireland’s first new craft distillery, was set up by five friends from Wicklow and Dublin with a deep passion for reviving the heritage of craft distilling in Ireland.The 18th & 19th centuries there were the glory days of the Irish whiskey industry, with over 200 licensed distilleries in all of Ireland. There were also countless unlicensed distilleries at the time, producing diverse styles of poitín, whiskey, gin and even absinthe. But through a series of unfortunate events, the Irish Whiskey Industry dried to a trickle in the 1970’s.
Glendalough Distillery is part of a revival of this Irish heritage. Their philosophy is "to make innovative spirits while staying true to the tradition and heritage of our ancestors." Glendalough started out making poitín - the traditional Irish distillate made in small pot stills. From there they seamlessly transitioned to whiskey production, and most recently, seasonal, wild botanical gins. All of their production is handmade.
About Irish Whiskey
Contrary to popular belief that Scots invented whisk(e)y, Irish whiskey was mentioned almost a century before its Scottish brother.
Its origin comes from the perfume distilling monks who decided to tweak the recipe a bit, creating Irish whiskey.
Irish whiskey doesn’t have a lot of rules and regulations to be considered “pure” and can be made with various grains and processes, as long as it is aged for at least three years in wooden casks and has a max ABV of 94.8%.

About Goslings Papa Seal Single Barrel Bermuda Rum 2020 Release
The 2020 Edition of their Papa Seal Rum continues in the vein of its ultra-premium single barrel predecessor, which has garnered numerous awards, including a 2019 Rum of The Year by the Caribbean Journal and 92 points by Tasting Panel. It was named after the CEO and father of the Goslings family of rum-makers, Malcolm Gosling, known among family and friends as "Papa Seal". This second release is a blend of pot and column-still rums that have spent between 10 and 21 years in hand-selected once-used medium-char bourbon barrels.After blending, the liquid spends an additional 2 years in American white oak, letting the aromas and flavors marry in the humid and salty air of Bermuda. After filtration, the rum is bottled at 83 proof. Only 1500 bottles of this mellow and elegant rum were produced for the US market in 2020. Each cask was carefully hand-picked, every bottle meticulously bottled and labeled by hand. This expression is one of the few single barrel rums available on the market today.

About Goslings
The story of Goslings Rum is a serendipitous one, dating as far back as 1806, when James Gosling ventured out to sea at the request of his father. Gosling was heading towards Virginia, equipped with wines and spirits worth 10,000 pounds Sterling. 91 days into the trip the charter on the ship Mercury ran out, forcing Gosling to settle in Bermuda. Eventually he decided to open a wine and spirits shop on the island, the rest is history.Upon his return to England in 1824 James Gosling opened a shop with his brother Ambrose, which has been in the Gosling family ever since. Their first rum, the Black Seal, was produced nearly half a century later in 1863. Produced in Bermuda, the Black Seal is synonymous with the island. Today, the family business is in the 7th genera tion of Goslings, who continue to lead company, as the largest exporter of any Bermuda made product. Goslings is also the only company that blends and bottles on the island.
Over a century and a half later, the family’s patriarch Malcolm Gosling made the decision to reveal the secrets of their family’s successful Caribbean elixir. Goslings Family Reserve Rum is crafted from the same blend of ingredients as their flagship Black Seal Rum. The differentiating factor is the increased amount of time the rum spends inside of the ex-bourbon oak barrels, giving it more complexity and overall depth.

About The Macallan
Situated on a ridge above the banks of the River Spey, the Easter Elchies House has been the spiritual home of The Macallan for over three centuries. In 1820, Alexander Reid sowed the fields surrounding the rented home with barley and established the first licensed distillery on the estate, which he named Macallan after an ancient church that had been destroyed by fire during the 15th century. In the slow winter days, Reid would ferment and distill his excess grains into whisky, which was often drunk straight from the still or sold to travelers passing through the town.Today, the Macallan Estate encompasses 370 acres, 95 of which are devoted to the production of the Macallan Estate's Minstrel barley (a single acre produces about 2.5 tons of barley each year, enough to yield 1,800 bottles of The Macallan). In addition, the distillery contracts with farmers to purchase barley that is low in nitrogen and high in starch, resulting in a rich and oily whisky.
After the harvest, the barley is malted and mashed in one of The Macallan's two mash tuns, a process that takes between four and eight hours. Then, the barley is fermented with a specially cultured yeast before being distilled twice through The Macallan's copper-pot stills. The copper comprising the stills acts as a catalyst and enhances the formation of sweet esters while minimizing impurities such as sulfur. In addition, the curiously small stills — some of "the smallest stills within the Scotch whisky industry," according to production manager Alexander Tweedie — produce a whisky with a heavy, oily flavor. Following distillation, The Macallan distillers remove the heads and tails of the whisky and collect approximately 16% of the spirit to fill into casks for maturation. This "cut," which is among the highest of any Scottish distillery, results in a more full-bodied and richer whisky.

In the 18th century, a Swiss Mennonite farmer by the name of John Shenk settled his family near Pennsylvania's Blue Mountain Valley. Within a few years, Shenk was harvesting more grains that he could sell, and so he began distilling the excess grains into whiskey. Shenk's distillery, which was eventually named Michter's Distillery, became the United States' first distilling company. Just two decades after Shenk opened the doors to his distillery, General George Washington began purchasing Michter's Distillery Whiskey in order to fortify his men as they camped through a long and brutal winter at Valley Forge. Michter's Distillery, as the saying goes, was the whiskey that warmed the American Revolution.The passage of Prohibition in 1919 forced Michter's Distillery, along with nearly every other distillery in the United States, to close. In the early 1990s however, Joseph J. Magliocco teamed up with Richard Newman in an effort to resurrect the brand. "When we set up our whiskey program for Michter's Distillery," says Magliocco, "Dick and I wanted to get back to the 'cost be damned' roots and produce the finest whiskey possible. Our goal was to show that whiskey made in the United States could be the equal of great whiskey made anywhere in the world."
It's the two 25-year-olds that are the crown jewels in Michter's lineup, the range-topping Straight Rye and Straight Bourbon expressions. These limited-production whiskeys are available as stock permits and have spe nt a quarter of a century in the distillery's finest barrels before being granted the seal of approval by Master Distiller Dan McKee and Master of Maturation Andrea Wilson. Michter's 25 Year Kentucky Straight Bourbon is aged in new, fire-charred American white oak and is bottled at 116.2 proof. It offers great complexity and an exquisite balance of all the classic bourbon notes.

Following Prohibition, Four Roses Kentucky Straight Bourbon became the top-selling bourbon in the United States. In 1943, Seagram’s bought the distillery and a decade later, discontinued the sale of Four Roses Kentucky Straight Bourbon. In 2002, the distillery changed hands again, and the new owner brought a renewed sense of purpose and vigor to Four Roses.A signature trait of Four Roses is their use of full transparency; they display the different distillates and recipes that go into each bottle. This showcases how the limited edition blends have evolved year after year. Historically The Four Roses Distillery has been known to use five different yeast strains and two mash bills at any given time. This means that a total of 10 different distillates can be used to blend their bourbons. Every barrel at Four Roses is labeled with a four-letter code. Each yeast strain and mash bill is identified by corresponding letters K, O, Q, F, V (for the mash bills) and E and O (for the yeast strains).

About Jameson

Batches 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, and 8 all received Whisky Advocate scores of 90 points or higher, and various well-regarded writers and online reviewers named batches 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 10 amongst the top 10 American whiskeys of 2019 and 2020.Four Gate Whiskey Company’s Release #4, Split Stave™ by Kelvin is a Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey finished in innovative Split Stave™ casks designed and produced exclusively for Four Gate by Kelvin Cooperage. The casks for this release were built by breaking down a series of medium toast casks, a series of #2 char casks, and a series of #4 char casks, and reassembling them, alternating toasted staves and #2 char staves on some barrels, and toasted and #4 char staves on others. These barrels were then filled with a blend of a 5.5-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon and a 12-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon, and left to rest for five months. The whiskey was bottled uncut and unfiltered at 115.6 proof. Only 2,700 bottles of this inaugural Split Stave™ by Kelvin release were produced.

After they finally found straight rye that met their high standards, Straub and D’Antoni selected the best barrels of 7-year-old Indiana straight rye whiskey and blended them, creating a spicy and yet fruit-forward whiskey for a refreshing sip. This batch of the Indiana rye, made from a mash bill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley, is presented without barrel finishing and bottled at 113.2 proof. Even though the cooperage was not involved in the making of this release, Four Gate still paid homage to it with the name. Only 1,484 bottles of this delicious sipping whiskey were made.

This is the company’s third expression bottled without finishing, following two unfinished Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey batches, dubbed "Foundation," presented in late 2019 and in early 2020. For Batch #8, Straub and D’Antoni, selected and blended five barrels of 10-year-old Tennessee straight bourbon with a mash bill of 84% corn, 8% rye, and 8% malted barley, bottling it at 112.2 proof. With only 812 bottles produced, this is a very limited edition even for Four Gate.

Batches 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, and 8 all received Whisky Advocate scores of 90 points or higher, and various well-regarded writers and online reviewers named batches 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 10 amongst the top 10 American whiskeys of 2019 and 2020.Four Gate Whiskey Company’s Release #11, Ruby Rye Springs, is a 7-year straight rye whiskey finished in ruby port-rum casks. Following batches 7 and 10, this is the third presentation of the same underlying rye whiskey made from a mash bill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley. This time, the Indiana-sourced straight rye was finished for forty-two days in ruby port-rum casks. The secondary casks were originally used to mature ruby port, a sweet and bright style of port wine, and after that they were used to age a blend of rums by Virago Spirits in Richmond, VA, imparting them with a lush molasses sweetness that pairs excellently with the bright red fruit of the ruby port. Only 1,444 bottles were produced at 113.4 proof.

About Dingle
Two hundred years ago, there were over a hundred officially recognized distilleries in Ireland. Today there are less than ten. Founded as Ireland’s first artisan distillery, Dingle takes its name from the town in which it is located, where tourists flock to visit Europe’s westernmost human settlement. As of 2012, an old sawmill was converted into a distillery, where Dingle marries Ireland’s tradition of independent distilling with innovative processes only feasible for small batch producers.Dingle’s humid climate with cool gulf stream breezes is considered ideal for spirit distillation. When restaurateur Oliver Hughes decided to open Irleand’s first artisan distillery, he wanted to capture the terroir of Kerry County. In order to do so, Hughes bought traditional pot still designed by Master Distiller John McDougall. He affectionately named the hand beaten copper pot still Oisin, and immediately began producing Ireland’s first small batch vodka, gin and whiskey.

About Johnnie Walker
Johnnie Walker, one of the most widely distributed brands of blended Scotch whisky in the world, originated in the Scottish burgh of Kilmarnock in East Ayrshire. The story of the brand starts with John Walker, who started a profitable groceries business with the inheritance from his father. John Walker, himself a teetotaler, found his competitive edge in whiskies he blended himself, offering his customers a consistent product, unlike most other grocers, who usually sold a line of single malts that were never all that consistent. Whisky represented about eight percent of the sales when John’s son Alexander Walker took over the business after his father’s death in 1857, and when the company was passed on to the third generation, this share was already between 90 and 95 percent. The legalization of the blending of grain and malt whiskies by the Spirits Act of 1860 marked the beginning of the modern blended Scotch whisky. Johnnie Walker's first commercial blend, called Old Highland Whisky, was launched in 1867. Alexander Walker also introduced the brand's signature square bottle, and the distinctive slanted label. In 1893, the Walkers acquired the Cardhu distillery, and kept expanding through the early 20th century by buying interests in a number of distilleries. This ensured the company a steady supply of whiskies for its blends. By 1909, John's grandsons George and Alexander II had expanded the line, and sold three blended whiskies.In 1909, the company rebranded its whiskies, introducing the famous striding man logo and renaming the blends after the colors of their lab els. By 1920, Johnnie Walker could be bought in 120 countries. The company joined Distillers Company in 1925, and, after its acquisition by Guinness, and Guinness’s subsequent merger with Grand Metropolitan, the brand is now owned by Diageo.
