Kentucky Owl Straight Bourbon Whiskey Batch No.9
About Kentucky Owl Straight Bourbon Whiskey Batch No.9
Batch #9 is a blend of four different whiskeys from four different mash bills. Each whiskey ranges from 6 to 15 years in age. "This is the most robust Kentucky Owl batch I’ve ever created. It may be the most flavorful liquid ever bottled for the brand. To me, it’s a bourbon monster in the best way possible. I hope it’s something both serious and casual whiskey drinkers appreciate," says Dedman.Pick up your bottle today!
About Kentucky Owl
Kentucky Owl was founded by Charles Mortimer Dedman, a local pharmacist, in 1879. After marrying his wife, Dedman was given a large parcel of land on the banks of the Kentucky River, as a wedding gift from his adopted father who was a local town judge. C.M. Dedman Distillery was established here on the banks of the Kentucky River, producing "The Wise Man's Bourbon" under Distilled Spirits Plant Designation "No. 16", one of Kentucky’s original distilleries and part of a booming industry.Kentucky Owl achieved much success and production continued until Prohibition halted distillation. The family-run facility was no match for the "forces of teetotalism, temperance and eventually, the Feds". In 1916, Prohibition left several local distilleries with ample reserves of bourbon. As for Kentucky Owl, approximately 250,000 gallons of bourbon were left over in various stages of aging. Today these reserves would be worth about $40 million in inventory. After Federal agents descended on the Dedman’s distillery, the bourbon was seized and shipped up the river by barge to the state capital in Frankfort for "safekeeping" in a warehouse.
Currently, Kentucky Owl is in the midst of designing a stunning state-of-the-art d istillery park with rickhouses for aging, a bottling center, as well as a vintage dinner train to stop on the property. It will be built at Cedar Creek Quarry in Bardstown. The 420-acre site will boast beautiful lakes with crystal clear, limestone-filtered water that will be used in their whiskey production.

About Kings County
Situated along the banks of the East River, Kings County Distillery is New York City's oldest operating whiskey distillery and the first distillery in New York City since Prohibition. Wedged between Williamsburg and Vinegar Hill, Colin Spoelman and David Haskell, the master distillers at Kings County, make hand-crafted bourbon and moonshine out of the century-old Paymaster Building at the Brooklyn Navy Yard.A typewriter the two distillers found on the sidewalk in Williamsburg is used to make the labels that adorn their clear, flask-like bottles, while a hairdryer (made by Revlon) is used to affix each bottle seal. Handwritten scrawls on a chalkboard keep track of different batches, and mesh laundry bags are used as strainers. Haskell and Spoelman use the first alcohol produced from each batch — the "head" — as a disinfectant and sell the used mash to a pig farmer who uses it as feed. "I still don't understand why it doesn't make the pigs drunk," Haskell says.
About American Whiskey
There are two main representatives of the American whiskey family, bourbon, and rye< /a>, but some other spirits don't fall into those two strictly regulated categories.
There's equally strictly regulated American single malt, made from 100% malted barley, Tennessee whiskey, essentially bourbon filtered through maple charcoal and aged in new charred oak barrels.
And then there's moonshine, a high proof (150- 170 proof) distilled spirit mainly made out of corn which gained popularity during the prohibition.
Check out our impressive selection of American single malts, or find your new favorite in our rich whisk(e)y selection, and get familiarized with what the world has to offer.
Straight Bourbon: A rich aroma of fresh corn, balanced with the sweet caramelized oak sap from small barrels. It has a very strong sweet base with flavors of vanilla and caramel, a deep molasses taste to the middle notes, and leaves a smooth finish with hints of cinnamon and autumn spices.
Peated Bourbon: Kings County Distiller Peated Bourbon is a scotch-like bourbon, flavorful and robust from having aged in a new barrel, with an added light smoky finish reminiscent of single-malt. If scotch and bourbon had a baby, this is what it would taste like.
Chocolate Whiskey: Kings County Distillery Chocolate Whiskey is bitter and surprising. This rich whiskey tastes like dark chocolate and works well in cocktails or on its own as a digestif or dessert whiskey.
Spiced Whiskey: You can expect plenty of baking spice notes in this festive infused whiskey with cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, allspice, clove, black peppercorns, and star anise.

About Knob Creek
Following the end of the American Revolutionary War, Johannes Reginald Beam emigrated from Germany to the United States and eventually settled in Kentucky County. At the time, Kentucky County was still considered part of Virginia, and was overseen by a military governor named John J. Bowman. After settling in Kentucky, Beam began harvesting corn and set forth a family tradition by distilling the excess grains he harvested into whiskey. Since then, seven generations of the Beam family have been involved in whiskey production for the eponymous company (the company is actually named after James Beam, who rescued it following Prohibition).Knob Creek Bourbon was created by Beam’s grandson, Booker Noe, who after joining the family business in 1950 was promoted to Master Distiller just ten years later. Booker talked like a true Kentuckian an d was known for his contagious personality, and through his launch of the "Small Batch Bourbon Collection" — the collection includes Knob Creek as well as Basil Hayden’s, Booker’s, and Baker’s bourbons — he is often credited as the father of the small-batch bourbon movement.
Knob Creek Bourbon takes its name from the small water source, Knob Creek, that ran through President Abraham Lincoln’s childhood farm. Booker’s vision for Knob Creek Bourbon was that of an honest, quality bourbon that could meet the standards — strength, flavor, care, and patience — of bourbon made before prohibition distressed the industry just decades earlier. Like Abraham Lincoln himself, Booker designed Knob Creek Bourbon to be honest, unwavering, and full of character.

About Lagavulin
Situated on the banks of Lagavulin Bay on the island of Islay, Lagavulin Distillery is one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland. Distilling took place on the banks of Lagavulin Bay as early as 1742, and by the turn of the century, there were as many as ten illicit stills operating in the area. In 1816, John Johnson founded the first legal distillery on the site, and within a year Archibald Campbell had opened a second. After Johnson's death, Alexander Graham acquired Johnston's distillery for £1,100 and eventually united the two distilleries together under the Lagavulin name. Since that time, the rich, peaty water that runs down the brown burn and through the Solan Lochs into the hills just next to Lagavulin Bay has served as the lifeblood of the distillery.Lagavulin is known as one of the most intense, smoky single malt whiskies ever made — the peated barley used to create Lagavulin Single Malt has up to twenty times as much exposure to peat smoke as compared to typical Scotches. Once the grains used to craft Lagavulin Whisky have been harvested and malted, they are dried over a peat and gas fire calibrated specifically to produce Lagavulin's signature, bold flavor profile. Then, the grains are milled and mashed before being fermented for approximately 72 hours. Following fermentation, the whisky is distilled twice — first through a wash still for approximately five hours and then again through a spirit distill for approximately nine hours. This is the slowe st distillation process of any Islay distillery, giving Lagavulin its characteristic round flavors and mellow edges.
About Scotch
Scotch is the most popular whisky in the world and is considered the king of them all! There are five whisky regions in Scotland (six if you count the not officially recognized Islands), and each of them produces spirits with unique properties and distinct tasting notes. (The type of grain used determents the type of the scotch.)
Malt whisky is made of malted barley, and grain whisky uses other grains like corn or wheat. Most of the time, a whisky is blended from different distilleries hence the name blended scotch, but if a malt whisky is produced in a single distillery, we get something extraordinary called a single malt.

Laphroaig 15 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky
About Laphroaig 15 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Situated on the southern coast of Islay, Laphroaig (pronounced La-froyg) Distillery was founded nearly two centuries ago by Donald and Alexander Johnston. The distillery derives its name from the ancient Gaelic word "lag"(meaning hollow) and the ancient Norse word "vik" (meaning bay), which refers to its location on the shores of Loch Laphroaig. In 1836, Donald Johnston offered his brother £350 for his interests the distillery, and ultimately became the sole proprietor of Laphroaig Distillery. For over a century, the distillery would remain in the hands of one of Johnston's descendants. In 1954, however, Ian Hunter passed away childless and bequeathed the distillery to Bessie Williamson, a secretary that had been working at the distillery for two decades. Hunter was incredibly protective of the distillery — while he slowly revealed its secrets to Williamson after she had earned his trust, Hunter prevented a cooper who was employed at the distillery from publishing his memoirs because they described the workings of the distillery in too great a detail.
Laphroaig Single Malt Whisky is one of the most flavorful and intense whiskies made anywhere in the world. During Prohibition, it was one of the few whiskies still legally imported into the United States, as it was considered a medicinal spirit. Laphroaig Single Malt is made from the finest Scottish barley, which is then malted at the distillery and smoked over a peat flame. Unlike other distilleries which source peat from the Scottish mainland, the peat used to smoke Laphroaig barley is made of from the heather, mosses and lichens of Islay and adds a distinct iodine-like flavor to the whisky.
After the barley has been malted and peated, it is fermented before being twice-distilled through Laphroaig's copper-pot stills. The unique stills have an usually flat base and flat surfaces, which lends to the overall intensity of the whisky. After the whisky has been distilled, it is aged in seasoned oak barrels, which are re-charred prior to being filled. The re-charring process caramelizes the remaining sugars in the barrel, and adds slightly sweet notes of vanilla and nutty dough to the whisky.
Originally launched in the 1980s, Laphroaig 15 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky quickly became a fan favorite, with popularity culminating in 2000 when it was chosen by the Prince of Wales for the “Erskine Charity Bottling”. While the 15 year old expression was eventually replaced by Laphroaig’s now-standard 18 year old, in honor of the distillery’s bicentennial in 2015, Laphroaig has re released a special 200th Anniversary Edition of the Laphroaig 15 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky.
Crafted in the exact same fashion as it was 30 years ago, Laphroaig 15 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky has an initial aroma of mint and grapefruit, as well as saltwater, peat smoke and apple orchards. On the palate, the whisky is dry and peppery, with touches of leather and tobacco leading to a mellow finish that’s underpinned by subtle notes of peat, almonds and dates.
Laphroaig 15 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky was pre-released to the distillery’s 650,000 “Friends of Laphroaig” earlier this year, but sold out within hours. Pick up a bottle on Caskers today!

Goslings Papa Seal Single Barrel Bermuda Rum 2020 Release
About Goslings Papa Seal Single Barrel Bermuda Rum 2020 Release
The 2020 Edition of their Papa Seal Rum continues in the vein of its ultra-premium single barrel predecessor, which has garnered numerous awards, including a 2019 Rum of The Year by the Caribbean Journal and 92 points by Tasting Panel. This second release is a blend of pot and column-still rums that have spent between 10 and 21 years in hand-selected once-used medium-char bourbon barrels. After blending, the liquid spends an additional 2 years in American white oak, letting the aromas and flavors marry in the humid and salty air of Bermuda. After filtration, the rum is bottled at 83 proof. Only 1500 bottles of this mellow and elegant rum were produced for the US market in 2020. About Goslings
The story of Goslings Rum is a serendipitous one, dating as far back as 1806, when James Gosling ventured out to sea at the request of his father. Gosling was heading towards Virginia, equipped with wines and spirits worth 10,000 pounds Sterling. 91 days into the trip the charter on the ship Mercury ran out, forcing Gosling to settle in Bermuda. Eventually he decided to open a wine and spirits shop on the island, the rest is history.Upon his return to England in 1824 James Gosling opened a shop with his brother Ambrose, which has been in the Gosling family ever since. Their first rum, the Black Seal, was produced nearly half a century later in 1863. Produced in Bermuda, the Black Seal is synonymous with the island. Today, the family business is in the 7th genera tion of Goslings, who continue to lead company, as the largest exporter of any Bermuda made product. Goslings is also the only company that blends and bottles on the island.
Over a century and a half later, the family’s patriarch Malcolm Gosling made the decision to reveal the secrets of their family’s successful Caribbean elixir. Goslings Family Reserve Rum is crafted from the same blend of ingredients as their flagship Black Seal Rum. The differentiating factor is the increased amount of time the rum spends inside of the ex-bourbon oak barrels, giving it more complexity and overall depth.
About Rum
Rum history allegedly started in the Carribiens in the 17th century when they started to ferment and distill molasses, a byproduct of sugar production. Most of the Rum is aged in oak or ex-wine casks, giving its color and flavor.
We distinguish between 4 different Rum categories, where white or unaged rum is mainly used in cocktails, while dark, spiced, and añejo (aged) rum are mostly enjoyed neat.

Oban 21 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky
About Oban 21 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Oban Single Malt Whisky is made using 100% barley, which is malted to the distillery's exact specifications. After the barley is malted, it is partially germinated and gently dried over a peat kiln, giving it a slightly smoky, malty flavor profile. The stills are among the smallest in Scotland, and limit Oban's production to just 650,000 liters of whisky annually.Oban 21 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is the third limited release whisky produced by Oban Distillery in its 219-year history. Released as part of Diageo's 2013 Special Release Whiskies, Oban 21 Year Old was matured for 21 years in rejuvenated American oak and second-fill ex-bodega casks before being bottled at cask strength. About Oban
After moving with their widowed mother to the small port city of Oban (situated in northwest Scotland), John and Hugh Stevenson took jobs building and repairing boats at the city's boatyard, a trade they had learned from their late father. In the 1790s, the brothers left their boat-making jobs and founded a brewery in the city. In 1794, they converted their brewery into Oban Distillery, one of the oldest and most prestigious distilleries in Scotland. For nearly a century, Oban Distillery remained in the hands of the Stevenson family. In 1883, however, J. Walter Higgin purchased the distillery and began renovations. While Higgin renovated both the distillery's equipment and structure, he did so piecemeal in order to ensure that the distillery was able to meet the uninterrupted demand for its whisky. Today, over 100 years later, Oban Distillery remains substantially the same as it was after Higgin's refurbishment.
